No update today, as neither of my art programs seem to want to work for more than 10 minutes at a time. Having just redrawn the same scene 5 times in a row? Makes me say TO HELL WITH THIS I’m playing Sims -_-;

Also, little bonus; click read more for my Sims 3: World Adventures travel tips ;D

-> As soon as you arrive in a new place, go straight to the General Store and buy up the location unique items, such as the treasure chests. You can buy things like the training dummy in China which means you can learn and practice Kung Fu once you get back without having to revisit. The chests are just extra storage. Excellent if you’re trying to make a themed home, though!

-> While at the General Store, buy a tent. Even if you don’t intend to adventure straight away, it’ll save you having to remember to buy one later. You should also pick up a camera, even if it’s just a cheap one.

-> If you are planning an immediate adventure, buy about 5 servings of dried food. Also stock up on “Shower in a Can” – if you trigger an electrical trap, you can’t re-attempt crossing until you’ve had a shower, thus clearing the “Shocked” moodlet.

-> You don’t have to accept every adventure on the board at the homebase. You can decline, check immediately, and you’ll be offered a different one. Be aware that the declined ones will remain on the board until you accept them.

-> Try find the tomb exploration missions first – they pay the best, and are more fun than running around the country searching for bugs and rocks!

-> Once you have a camera, take photo’s of EVERYTHING. Treasure chests, random people in the street, landmarks, toilets, beds, whatever! Even if your subject gets labelled as “Nothing”, you still gain experience in it. The Photographers Eye trait will mean this skill increases faster. There don’t appear to be any places where you can take lessons, though I’ve been told there is a book, so that leaves you those 2 methods of improving your skill.

-> Everything is separated into “Collections”, and completing enough collections will earn you big rewards. Completing about 5 photo collections means you don’t have to pay to take photos, for example.

-> Be prepared to return to the same locale several times.

-> 5+ day trips will mean you need to make an extra effort to socialize, or you get an Isolated or Desolated moodlet!
